MCBC'S 10TH ANNIVERSARY GALA
 |

 |

We are pleased that our five honorees and their spouses were in attendance to receive our special thank you for their successful teamwork in preserving our military bases during the 2005 BRAC Commission process. Each of the individual awards stated: In Appreciation For Your Outstanding Contribution To The Economic Vitality, Growth And Preservation Of Monterey County.
Receiving the awards were: Leon Panetta, Panetta Institute for Public Policy and co-chair of the California Council for Base Support and Retention; ADM Henry Mauz, Naval Postgraduate School Foundation and member of the California Council for Base Support and Retention; the Honorable Sam Farr, Congressman, California 17th District; Fred Meurer, City Manager, City of Monterey; and Fred Cohn, Deputy City Manager, City of Monterey.
Each of the award recipients made brief comments that added up to one key word that led to their success during the BRAC process: TEAMWORK.
A separate "team" award was presented to Mayor Dan Albert and the entire Monterey City Council for their commitment to "leaving no stone unturned" to preserve our bases in Monterey.
MCBC President, Mary Ann Leffel, did a great job as master of ceremonies.
