Monterey County Business Portal




The Monterey County Business Portal is a public/private partnership that was launched as an initiative of the Competitive Clusters (C2) project in order to improve communications efficiency and accessibility of information for economic development within this geographically large county; consolidate and upgrade existing static, non-database, business-related Web resources; foster entrepreneurship for job creation and economic diversification within the region; provide access to expert advice and deep knowledge in relevant industries via a trusted support network and knowledge base; and improve the overall image of Monterey County as a business and technology-friendly community.

The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) will be conducting a series of six collaborative community workshops to initiate a regional dialogue about future growth and how we should prioritize future transportation improvements. At each workshop, stakeholders will provide their preferences for how to decrease transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions and accommodate housing and employment growth for the region. Overnight work on Highway 101 will shift traffic between Dunbarton Road and Cole Road. Beginning on Monday, April 29th, overnight work on the new U.S. 101/San Juan Road Interchange will shift traffic between Dunbarton Road and Cole Road. Traffic lanes will be crossed over between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., and will be in place Monday nights through Thursday nights for approximately three weeks. Monterey County Business Council in strong support for the County of Ventura’s proposal to establish an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Test Site in the State of California. We believe this will enhance the economic opportunities for the state and specifically for the Central Coast of CA. Monterey College of Law offers up to $25,000 in tuition grants for Monterey County Business Council members. As a member of the MCBC Higher Education Cluster, Monterey College of Law is providing up to ten individual $2,500 first-year tuition grants to qualified applicants from MCBC member organizations. The grants are available to owners, employees, spouses, and dependents of MCBC member organizations for the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year. The grants can be applied to both the J.D. and the Master of Legal Studies (M.L.S.) degree programs. Click here for more information.

MCBC's C2 Greywater and Rainwater Catchment Working Group just released its educational brochure for Monterey Bay area residents.    MCBC Establishes Monterey Bay Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). A program of MCBC, the Monterey Bay PTAC is one of over one-hundred PTACs from a nation-wide network of dedicated procurement professionals working to help local business compete successfully in the government marketplace. Sponsored and funded in part by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) under a cost-sharing cooperative agreement, the PTAC receives funding from the City of Salinas and in-kind support from several partners.
