Monterey County Business Portal

The Monterey County Business Portal is a public/private partnership that was launched as an initiative of the Competitive Clusters (C2) project in order to improve communications efficiency and accessibility of information for economic development within this geographically large county; consolidate and upgrade existing static, non-database, business-related Web resources; foster entrepreneurship for job creation and economic diversification within the region; provide access to expert advice and deep knowledge in relevant industries via a trusted support network and knowledge base; and improve the overall image of Monterey County as a business and technology-friendly community.

Idea2Venutre™: Helping business ideas take shape
Idea2Venture™ is an eight-session, intensive, hands-on training program for entrepreneurs and start-up teams committed to launching a business, product or service in the Monterey Bay region. The program, sponsored by the Monterey County Business Council and the Institute for Innovation & Economic Development, runs from March 27 through June 26, 2012 at California State University Monterey Bay. Greywater and Rainwater Catchment Systems
The City of Monterey, the Monterey County Business Council, and the C2 Green Building Committee continues to convene the Working Group to establish installation guidelines for greywater and rainwater catchment systems in Monterey County. Click here for more information.

The Monterey County Business Council is spearheading the creation of a Career Readiness Certificate to certify worker skills. The mismatch between the skills required for most jobs and the skills of the U.S. workforce is having a significant impact on productivity and revenue across all businesses and industries.
